Soutenance d'Habilitation à diriger des Recherches par Benjamin VEST, Maître de Conférences dans le groupe Nanophotonique du Laboratoire Charles Fabry, le lundi 5 janvier 2026 à 13h00 dans l'Auditorium de l'Institut d'Optique Graduate School à Palaiseau, sur le thème : "Engineering luminescence - Nanophootnics and the control of spontaneous emission".
Summary : "Spontaneous emission underlies incandescence, photoluminescence, electroluminescence, even single-photon emission and many other processes. It is usually thought as incoherent and unpolarized radiation. Nanophotonics however enables subwavelength control of optical modes and modification of radiation properties. In this habilitation defense, I will cover our investigations on the control of luminescence, discussing both a design and engineering framework of light sources, as well as experimental demonstrations of polarized incandescence, directional photoluminescence, plasmonic electrical sources, or tunable single-photon emitters in 2D materials."
