Seminar Quantum Optics given by Kangheun Kim from KAIST, in Korea, on 5 September 2025 at 1:30pm in the Auditorium of the Institut d'Optique Graduate School in Palaiseau, on the topic: "From quantum state tomography to spin-exchange dynamics: locally controlled Rydberg atom arrays".
Abstract: "Neutral atom arrays with Rydberg interactions are a promising platform for quantum technologies, where identical qubits naturally allow global operations, while certain tasks require local control. In this talk, I will present two results enabled by such local control: quantum state tomography using freely configurable ancillas without full single-qubit operations, and spin-exchange dynamics in an anisotropic Rydberg Heisenberg magnet, where quantum walks and bound excitation dynamics emerge. These results illustrate how local control of Rydberg atom arrays opens new opportunities for probing and engineering many-body quantum dynamics."
