Séminaire d'optique quantique de Andrea Litvinov, de l'Université d'Innsbrück, le mardi 30 juin 2026 à 11h00 dans l'auditorium de l'Institut d'Optique Graduate School à Palaiseau, sur le thème : "Supersolidity in dipolar quantum gases". 

Résumé : "Quantum gases made of strongly dipolar atoms such as Erbium and Dysprosium can spontaneously form supersolids; an exotic phase of matter characterized by both density modulation and phase coherence. The recent observation of quantum vortices in dipolar supersolids has initiated a detailed investigation into the system’s dual solid-superfluid response under rotation. We show that vortices nucleated in rotating supersolids of dysprosium 164 trigger a synchronization of the crystal’s motion to an external driving frequency. We study this synchronization to investigate the critical frequency required for vortex nucleation.

In a second part, I will briefly present the first preliminary results of our new dysprosium quantum gas microscope."
