The Quantum Gas group is honoured by the 2022 Nobel in Physics attributed to its founder Alain Aspect.
Quantum Gases Group
At low temperatures, atoms have properties similar to this of photons in optics and electrons in solids. Exploiting these analogies, the Quantum Gas group manipulates ultra-cold quantum gases to study fundamental problems of quantum atom optics, many-body physics and out-of-equilibrium dynamics in correlated quantum systems.
In this context, the group is composed of several experimental teams working on quantum atom optics and simulation of condensed matter problems.
