Doctoral students' seminar given by: Quentin Marolleau from the Quantum Gases group, on 20 January 2022 at 1.15pm in the auditorium of the Institut d'Optique in Palaiseau, on the topic: "Quantum atom optics: towards the realization of quantum interferences experiment with helium atoms".

Abstract: " The quantum gases group is specialized in the realization and study of Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC): ultra-cold atomic gas that behaves as a geniune coherent matter wave.
In particular, the "Quantum Atom Optics" team has developped many techniques that enables the extraction of a collection of atoms -out of the BEC- whose momenta are srtongly correlated. These techniques associated to a detectetor sharp enough to measure the speed of a single atom, allow us to perform some quantum optics experiments, in the framework of atomic physics."
