Presentation of the research group

At low temperatures, atomic gases exhibit quantum properties similar to those of photons in optics or electrons in solids. Exploiting these analogies, the Atom Optics group manipulate ultra-cold quantum gases to investigate fundamental problems of quantum atom optics, many-body physics and dynamics of correlated quantum systems.
Within this framework, the group consists of several experimental teams and a theory group. They address both quantum optics and condensed matter issues in their work.
