The research group " Non linear materials and Applications" of the “Laboratoire Charles Fabry de l' Institut d' Optique” currently consists of ten members including six researchers, assistants professor and professors, two post-docs and two PhD students. We regularly welcome trainees, post-docs and invited professors.
From the knowledge acquired through the studies of optical non-linearities and their implementation in devices, we control all the chain going from the physics of the optical interactions to the applications. This control is one of our characteristics, which gives us a strong and almost unique position. Our current research is centred on the study of optical non-linearities in materials structured on scales close to the optical wavelength, in particular on the reinforcement of the non linear optical properties induced by this structuring.
We also conceive new approaches for the realization of optical functions for telecommunications and the data storage. This research leads us to transfer devices towards industry. Our research activities are detailed by activating the links associated with the following images:
