Antoine Browaeys, an experienced experimental physicist and CNRS silver medalist in 2021, has been awarded a prestigious European "ERC Advanced Grant" which will finance an ambitious research project over the next 5 years.
His ATARAXIA project aims at exploring very fundamental physics problems on the understanding of so-called "N-body" systems. The study of these systems composed of a large number of atoms is also useful for the development of quantum technologies.
With his team from the Charles Fabry Laboratory - LCF (CNRS/Institut d'Optique), he will be able to use concepts and methods developed over the last 10 years and which have led to the start-up Pasqal, one of the most advanced French start-ups in quantum technologies, of which he is the co-founder.
