Thesis defense of Hussein TALEB, PhD student in the Lasers group, on Friday 31 March 2023 at 2.30pm in the auditorium of the Institut d'Optique in Palaiseau, on the topic: "LED-pumped femtosecond laser amplifiers based on Cr:LiSAF".
Abstract: "Over the last 20 years, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have undergone a spectacular improvement in performance and a drastic reduction in cost. Combined with luminescent concentrators, LEDs offer energy in the order of a joule in the visible range (550-600 nm), which is ideal for pumping broadband laser materials used in femtosecond lasers. This work presents the first LED-pumped femtosecond laser amplifiers. It paves the way for a new generation of ultra-short laser sources with the unique properties of robustness, low cost and simplicity".
