Seminar for PhD students given by Lucas Lavoine of the Quantum Gases group, on 14 October 2021 at 1:15 pm in the auditorium of the Institut d'Optique Graduate School in Palaiseau, on the theme : "Beyond-mean-field effects in Rabi-coupled two-component Bose-Einstein condensate".

Abstract: " In this seminar, I will talk about my PhD works about spin mixtures of potassium 39 Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). Radio-frequency (RF) coupling between two Zeeman states allows to control the interactions from attractive to repulsive. It is also possible to cancel the mean-field interaction and create a system where the dynamics is governed by quantum fluctuations. Those fluctuations can be controlled by tuning the strength of the RF coupling. By measuring the size of our BEC after an expansion in a waveguide, we are able to directly measure this energy. "
