PhD students' seminar given by Maxime Nourry-Martin from the Lasers group, on 14 April 2022 at 1.15 in the auditorium of the Institut d'Optique in Palaiseau, on the topic : "Development of a method of temperature restitution from an optical pyrometry measurement."

Abstract: "So-called "equation of state" experiments in laser-matter interactions carried out on power laser facilities correspond to temperatures of 104 to 106 K and pressures ranging from Mbar to Gbar. The pressure is measured with good accuracy but the temperature is often poorly known. Optical pyrometry is the only technique to date capable of evaluating the temperature in this type of experiment. It requires calibration in absolute photometry by an incoherent source that is both powerful and bright, on very short time bases (up to 5 ns). At present, the high temperature uncertainties arise from calibration with tungsten filament lamps of insufficient luminance. LED-pumped luminescent concentrators have the potential to achieve much better accuracy in measurements. In this presentation, a complete calibration method for the pyrometry measurement chain from target to detector will be presented."
